Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated 5 November 2026. Artemii is made by Mayfair.

This policy sets out what is not allowed when you use Artemii. It forms part of our Terms of Use. The underlying open models are also subject to their authors' usage terms, described in Open-source licences & model notices.

You must not use Artemii to

  • break the law, or help someone else to;
  • create or share content that sexualises children, or that incites or glorifies violence, terrorism or hatred against people for who they are;
  • harass, threaten, defraud, impersonate or deceive people, or run scams, phishing or spam;
  • create malware, or attack, probe or disrupt systems you do not own or have permission to test;
  • develop weapons capable of mass harm, or give serious help to someone planning violence or self-harm;
  • produce deceptive content about real people or fake reviews, or pass AI output off as human where that would mislead;
  • collect or process other people's personal data unlawfully, or put in data you have no right to use;
  • make decisions with legal or similarly significant effect on a person without human review;
  • try to get around allowances, access another person's account or data, or probe the service for weaknesses without our written permission;
  • resell or share your access, or use automated means to overload the service;
  • ask for pictures that sexualise children or sexual images of real people (these requests are refused);
  • use connected services or Mayfair app tools to do anything you are not allowed to do yourself;
  • use the output to train a competing AI model in breach of the licences that apply to the underlying models.

Share links and web pages

Do not publish through a share link anything you may not lawfully share. Do not use AI-written pages to collect passwords or payment details from people under false pretences.

Direct mode (18 or over)

Direct mode is an optional setting that makes Artemii more candid and blunt: fewer disclaimers and lectures, plain feedback, and mature themes allowed in fiction and discussion. It changes the tone, not the rules. Everything above still applies, and so do the limits the AI keeps in every mode, including no sexual content involving children, no help to make weapons capable of mass harm, no working weapon, explosive or drug-synthesis instructions, no malware, no targeted harassment, stalking, doxxing or fraud, and no sexual content about real people. Direct mode does not offer pornography. Artemii still says it is an AI and still will not invent facts or sources.

  • Age: Direct mode is for people aged 18 or over. General use of Artemii is for people aged 16 or over. To turn Direct mode on you confirm that you are 18 or over and accept the Direct mode terms. You must accept again if the terms change.
  • Your responsibilities: you are responsible for what you ask for and do with the answers. Do not share content made in Direct mode with anyone under 18 or present it as someone else's words.
  • Availability: Direct mode is unavailable if Mayfair ID marks your account as under 18, if your plan does not include it, or if your administrator or organisation has switched it off. You can switch it off or withdraw your acceptance at any time in Settings.
  • What Mayfair records: that you accepted (the time, the version of the terms and, if available, a salted one-way hash of your network address), and anonymous totals of how often the mode is used. Your chats are stored as normal. Mayfair does not record what you write in Direct mode beyond normal chat storage.
  • API: Direct mode is never applied to developer API calls by default. An application that asks for it is responsible for confirming that its own users are adults.
