Privacy Policy
This policy explains how personal data is handled when you use Artemii. The data controller is Mayfair. You can reach us at hello@mayfairmail.com.
1. What we collect
- Account details from your Mayfair ID: an identifier, your name, your email address and your plan.
- Your content: messages you send and replies you receive, artifacts and their versions, projects, files you add, custom assistants, your settings and share links. Your messages are stored exactly as you send them.
- Memory: short notes about you or your work that Artemii uses to answer you better. They are written by you, by Artemii when you ask it to remember something, by automatic learning after longer chats, or by a Mayfair app you have allowed. See "Memory" below.
- Activity log: a record of the tools, apps and connected services Artemii used for you (secrets removed, kept for 90 days).
- Pictures you ask Artemii to make, stored privately for a limited time (30 days by default).
- Connection details for services you connect, stored encrypted.
- Usage records: when a run happened, how large it was and which chat it belonged to, used to apply your allowance and to run the service.
- Abuse-protection records: counts of rate-limit hits, any warning or temporary pause on your account, and a salted one-way hash of your network (IP) address. A salted hash is a scrambled fingerprint that cannot be turned back into the address. We use it to apply per-address limits and spot abuse. We do not store the address itself in these records.
- Direct mode acceptance, if you turn that mode on: the time, the version of the terms and, if available, a salted one-way hash of your network address, plus the time you withdrew if you did.
- Feedback: a thumbs up or down on an answer, with an optional reason.
- Storage totals: how much space your Artemii content uses.
- Technical data: standard server logs such as time, request type and error information, used to keep the service working and secure.
Memory
- What is stored: short text notes (up to 500 characters each, at most 200 per person), each tagged with the kind of note (fact, preference, project or person), the app that wrote it (Artemii or a Mayfair app) and how it was written (by you, by the model, by automatic learning or by an app).
- Your controls: see, edit, export and delete every note, including notes from an app you have since switched off. Memory has a master switch, a separate switch for automatic learning, and a switch for each Mayfair app (off, read, or read and write).
- Automatic learning runs a small extra model call after a chat of at least four messages. It is skipped when memory or automatic learning is off, in incognito chats, and when the chat read outside content such as a web page.
- Incognito chats read and write no memory.
- Sensitive-data filter: notes that look like payment cards, bank details, government ID numbers, passwords or keys, or health, immigration, criminal record, abuse, self-harm, sexual, caste or date-of-birth details are refused. The filter is automatic and imperfect, so please do not put such things in memory on purpose.
- Company knowledge: on an organisation's plan, administrators can write notes that are added to everyone's prompts. These belong to the organisation, not to you.
This website does not use advertising cookies, analytics trackers or third-party scripts. If you choose a light or dark theme, your browser stores that choice on your device. See Cookies.
2. Why we use it
- To provide Artemii to you: sign you in, generate replies, store your work and apply your allowance (performance of our contract with you).
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse, including per-address rate limits that use the salted address hash (our legitimate interests).
- To meet legal obligations.
- To reply when you contact us.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use your content to advertise to you.
3. Where it is processed
Artemii runs on rented GPU servers controlled by Mayfair, behind a gateway and database operated on Cloudflare. The AI models run on those servers, so your messages are not sent to a third-party AI service to be answered. The providers of this infrastructure process data on our behalf. Our hosting providers may process data outside the UK and EEA; where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards.
4. Web tools
If web tools are enabled and the AI uses them, the search words are sent to a search provider, pages it reads are fetched from the sites concerned, and company look-ups are sent to a public company register. You can turn web tools off in Settings.
Connected services, Mayfair apps and the API
If you connect a service or allow a Mayfair app to give Artemii tools, Artemii sends that service what is needed to do what you asked, and receives its replies. Developer API calls are stateless: nothing is saved and the gateway does not log request text. Usage counts are recorded. Incognito chats are kept out of history, memory and the activity log, and are deleted when you delete them or within 24 hours.
Voice
Voice calls use your browser's own speech recognition and speech output. How your browser handles audio is governed by the browser's provider, not by Mayfair.
The Chrome extension
When published, the extension will talk only to the Artemii gateway and Mayfair ID. If you ask it to work on a page you have allowed, an outline of that page is sent to the gateway as part of the conversation. Your sign-in token is kept in browser memory only.
5. Sharing your data
We share data only with the infrastructure providers described above (see Sub-processors), with people you choose to share a link with, with advisers under confidentiality, and where the law requires.
Who can see your chats
Your chats are stored in Mayfair's database against your Mayfair ID, and other people cannot open them through Artemii. On a business plan, administrators can see usage and storage figures, settings and audit entries about the people on the plan. They cannot read your chats through the admin console. Mayfair operates the database that holds your content, so people at Mayfair who run and secure it can technically reach stored data. If you share a link, anyone with the link can read what you shared until you revoke it.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your content until you delete it or ask us to. Pictures are deleted automatically after 30 days by default, incognito chats within 24 hours, the activity log after 90 days, and approval and research records after 7 days. Our Data retention and deletion page has the full table. Server logs are kept for a short period.
What "delete all my data" keeps
You can delete everything in Settings. That removes your chats, messages, artifacts, files, projects, pictures, memory, connections, permissions, activity log, share links, assistants, feedback, Direct mode acceptance and settings. In plain English, these records are kept:
- your people record (Mayfair ID identifier, name, email, plan, limits and first and last seen), because it is your account in Artemii;
- usage records (when a run happened and how large it was), so allowances and billing stay accurate. A usage record can still carry the identifier of a chat that no longer exists;
- the abuse-protection record (warnings, any pause, and the salted address hash);
- developer API usage totals per end user, which are not tied to an Artemii account;
- today's cap counters (today's deep research and picture counts, which hold no content and enforce daily caps);
- anonymous counters with no user identifier and no content, such as thumbs counts per model and safety totals.
Copies already held elsewhere are not removed: a connected service keeps what Artemii sent it, a person you shared a link with may have copied it, and backup copies are not yet covered on this page. Deleting your Mayfair ID account is a separate action. We have not yet set fixed retention periods for the kept records above; they are listed on the retention page.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our use of your personal data, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office). You can download and delete your data yourself in Settings, or email us.
8. Security
Requests are authenticated with your Mayfair ID, each person's data is separated from others', and previews of AI-written pages run in a sandbox. Abuse limits use a salted hash of your network address rather than the address. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim any security certification at this time. See Security and privacy.
9. Children
General use is for people aged 16 or over. Artemii is not intended for children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Direct mode is for adults aged 18 or over. It is an optional setting that makes answers more candid. To use it you must confirm you are 18 or over and accept its terms. It is unavailable where Mayfair ID marks an account as under 18. A tick-box confirmation is not a formal age check, and we do not currently check age beyond honouring an under-18 flag from Mayfair ID. If you think a child is using Artemii, tell us at hello@mayfairmail.com.
10. Changes
We will update the date above when we change this policy and tell you about significant changes. See also AI transparency and the retention page.
